Off the bat, if B) are disposables, I'd go with A) to not be so wasteful.

But I probably don't have all the information!

I think you should go either or. As for the linen napkins, it depends on what you are doing with your tables. If you are doing cloth tablecloths and are putting napkins on each place, I would go with the linen. If you are not putting napkins on tables, or have plastic or paper tablecloths, I would go with paper napkins.

Thanks Ladies for your input...The venue comes with the linen tablecloths. The plates, cups , wine glasses etc are disposable that's not changing under any circumstance.$5 to replace one broken plate or glass-- no way no how....I don't know why but I'm stuck on having linen napkins.Lastly, I despise plastic utensils, but don't want the added headache of renting, so I tried out the "real look" utensils and I can stand them for at least one meal if I had too.  So now I'm trying to figure out if I should just buy the silverware and never have to buy any as long as I live LOL or do the disposable ones.... I really want a uniformed, classy look and paper napkins doesn't scream classy to me.

If you want classy and are having linen napkins, I would stick to real plates and cutlery. Maybe you can get a set for decent price at Homesense or something? You can always sell after..

We have lines on tables and linen napkins ( I got 250 napkis for $60) bbut we are using "real looking" plastic plates and Reflectios silver platicware. I hand rolled each set....it took awhile.

I have clear plates, silver look cutlery, and linen napkins folded across them with the menu tucked in.

Real look all the way. Especially if you are doing your own dishes after.

Real all the way.

What's wrong with a $5 fee for a broken dish? Are you planning to throw them around? FWIW we didn't have any broken plates or glasses, I am confident that broken ware will not be a major factor in your budget.

I'm facing the same thing!  We're doing the real look dishes and silverware (I might rent steak knives though)... I think I want cloth linens, but I'm not sure if makes a difference.  I'm so worried about all the little costs adding up.  I've been doing so well with my budgeting I just don't want to blow it on the details.

Our new caterer offers china and linens for a per person price but we are most likely going with real look plates and silverware. If they can offer us a good price on just silverware/linen per person I would totally do that but it would need to be really close to what I could get the real look for.
